Mission Accomplished!

I did it; I actually made it. I completed my PCT journey and reached the Canadian border on 10/5/20, 200 calendar days after departing the Mexican border on 3/17/20. Words cannot convey what has been going through my mind over the last several days.

I walked the entire 2,653 miles in a continuous northbound footpath, shredded 7 pairs of shoes, 4-ish pairs of socks, took 32 days “off” (most of which were filled with doing chores), wore out a tent, lost a lot of weight, met a great community of hikers and trail angels and learned a lot about myself.

Right now I’m heading home in the car with my parents. They drove me to the beginning of this journey and felt it was only fitting for them to help me finish it. Once I’m home and rested a bit I’ll continue to update the blog with the daily write ups. Until then, thank you all for your support and encouragement. It’s been one wild summer.

Savior out.

So totally cool! Watching your Garmin share was a daily diversion for me. Watching your progress was like following a space mission. The blogs were like press releases. My wife got into it too. “He’s crossing Hwy 20.” “Do you think he’ll camp by the lake or power through for a resupply?”

Just in case no one ever says it, I’ll say it.– Ron, I’m proud to know you.

Congratulations once again! It’s a journey of a lifetime. Thanks for taking me and everyone else along for the ride/hike 😉 I hope to be out there in 2021 after not getting to follow thru with my nobo permit this year. Looking forward to hearing more about your journey and what it feels like to come back to non-trail life.
